Face to face
Feb. 27, 2015 – Mission of the Pennsylvania State Land Tax Fairness Coalition reached the highest level of state government on Feb. 26. Representative Martin Causer (R-McKean) discussed the issues during a face-to-face meeting with Governor Tom Wolf.
Rep. Causer outlined for the governor the underlying issues behind tax fairness proposals he has introduced in the House of Representatives – House Bills 343 and 344. Additionally, he urged Governor Wolf to visit the northcentral Pennsylvania counties where the presence of so much tax-exempt state land has gutted the real estate tax base. “The more our state’s leaders understand rural Pennsylvania, the better off we will be,” Causer said. “I hope he takes me up on the offer.”
