Map gallery expanded

Feb. 12, 2015 – A critical section of the Pa. State Land Tax Fairness Coalition website have been expanded. One of the most effective new sections is Maps/Charts/Data – in particular the map gallery – which now uses the latest graphic tools to show the gutting of the local tax bases in Potter, Lycoming, Centre and Union counties. A similar map from Tioga County will be posted soon, and others will follow in the coming days.

GIS professionals from several counties are working on effective graphics and data to support the coalition. Of the maps posted so far, the Potter County and Lycoming County exhibit comes the closest to what we’re trying to achieve – an easily navigated exhibit displaying the extent to which state land ownership is gutting our tax bases (broken down by county, municipality and school district and graphically enhanced with a simple pie chart).
